Projects & budget

Bigger jobs in one place. Money in plain jars.

A project keeps everything about a bigger job together, with the next step always in sight. The budget shows your month in jars, and lets you try things without changing anything.

Projects

The toilet remodel, in one place.

A project is a bigger job that items belong to. The project page shows all of them together: what's still open in each list, and what's done. Items stay quick to capture; you add them to a project later, never while capturing.

  • The next step, always visible: the oldest open item, unless you pick one. The Projects list shows it too: “next: measure the wall”.
  • Dates from the items: “3 Nov – 15 Nov”, without filling anything in.
  • A description for measurements, decisions and what the plumber said.
  • Something you keep moving on in the check-in? “Make it a project” right there.

Updates & shopping

Write down what happened. Turn it into the next thing.

Post short updates on a project as things happen. Long-press one to make it an item or something to buy. The shopping list is only there once you need it: what, a link to the shop, and a tick when it's bought.

  • Updates, newest first: “Gamma has the grey 30×60 tiles in stock”.
  • A shopping list per project, with shop links; bought things move to the bottom.
  • Finished? Mark the project done; open it again any time.

Budget

Your month: what comes in, what goes out, what's left.

The budget is a plan per month, in jars: housing, groceries, the kids, savings. Each jar against its share of the income. Lines know how often they come (monthly, yearly) and are counted per month for you.

  • Income and expenses, grouped; tap a line to change it.
  • How often, which jar, which account, whether it's automatic, which day of the month.
  • Only the household's organizer sees it.

What if

Try it before you change it.

Switch lines off or try other amounts, and see the month change, with the difference against your plan. It never touches the plan itself: reset, and you're back.

Example: what if we cancel the second streaming service and the gym goes up by €5? +€9 a month.

Coming later

Kids' pots planned

A pot per child for the things you pay for (a coat, shoes), filling a little every month. When they ask for a new coat, the request lands in your Inbox with the numbers: “coat pot €95”.

Don't solve tomorrow today.
